I have had a bit of a go on it now and I must say it is a strange beast! I must be honest that initially I was a little disapointed as it seemed to be a very average distortion pedal with a bizzare synth/filter control (the R.I.P knob). After a few hours tweeking I have come to understand how to navigate through the pedals controls and am getting some promising results.
With the R.I.P off I've found some great overdrive tones from bright sparkly punky bass to convincing vintage overdrive (Blue cheer/Cream etc). The distortion is definately in the driven tube amp department and so far I would not compare it to something like a RAT distortion or Ibanez tube screamer.
The R.I.P control adds a mixture of extreme fuzz and synth weirdness the more it is increased, with drive and R.I.P dimed think Mylekko B:Assmaster pedal tones. Inbetween can be found Muse like fuzz, Jamiroquai funky sounds and loads more.
I am a way off coming to any conclusions but am really enjoying seeing what I can get out of her.
I'll do my best to get some sound clips up soon, I've never posted any sound recordings before so please bare with me!
One early criticism is that when playing with heavy drive levels and R.I.P control it seems to struggle with fast playing and notes get lost or seem to not appear at all, I shall experiment further!
Oh, and just in case your wondering I'm testing with a flatwound strung P bass and an active Yamaha John Myung 6-string which I think offers two very different perspectives.
