Tech21 BDDI

The B3K doesn't have a DI and the Duality is a fuzz pedal. I would suggest getting a good preamp or OD over a fuzz just yet. The Big Muff Deluxe is a fuzz that has a DI if you did wanna go that route. Otherwise I would check out other preamps avail with a DI. For example: VT Bass DI. Aguilar Tone Hammer. Rusty Box to name a few.

Hey dude I just checked out a bunch of videos on those pedals.

The big muff deluxe is actually a guitar pedal but there is a version of it called the electro-harmonix.

Those pedals all have DI but they cant really sound as aggressive as the duality or B3K. It seems like they are meant for improving tone quality more then distortion. I am leaning for both the ability to improve tone and have a little bit more aggressive distortion when I want that, the B3K can do it, but it doesnt have DI.

Is there a pedal that sounds like the B3K and has DI capability?

Check out the rusty box in that case. What I think he meant was the deluxe bass big muff with DI by electro-harmonix. There is a deluxe muff made for bass with a DI. But if you want a DI/preamp/dirt box all in one, and you can't afford a B7K (DOH!!!! That really suck. I think you should save up for it and grab one), you should either go with the rusty box or the VT bass v2 (the smaller one, not the one with the presets). There are others out there, but when you want an aggressive more modern sound, you can get that with the VT or the rusty box. They are both emulations of amps. The VT is obviously the SVT and the rusty is of a Traynor. The B7K is it's eon beast. You could use a B3K as a dirt box and tone shaper but no DI.

Your last question..... The B7K!! Sorry. I still think you should save for the 7. Man it rondos and it's worth every penny and much more.

OK There are like 3 or 4 different versions of the BDDI sansamp on ebay, what are the differences?

Theres the GT2, the deluxe which is programmable (I think it has 3 slots available?) and there are some other models that all look similar but have subtle differences. I am assuming these are small design changes but the same overall box??

I think I am going to get a BDDI now for 100 bucks, play around with it. Get a new rig in a couple months and part of that new rig will be the DUALITY.

I think you're on the right path. I've got the b7k and I tinker with it every few days and dig it more and more as time goes by. You can't go wrong with the Sansamp even if it's the single pedal version. Down the road if you want to sell it you can easily get your money back. If you find yourself going between light and heavy grit often, grab the 3 preset one. Otherwise the single will do.

The gt2 looks like it's foe guitar. Stick with the paradriver and ones with bass in their description.

The GT2, if I'm not mistaken, is for guitar. It looks a lot like the BDDI but a BDDI it is not. Some bassists use it but it's really built for use with a guitar. There's the programmable BDDI with, I think it's 3, presets. It's much larger of course. Then there's the regular BDDI which is the smaller one of course. They also recently came out with the VT DI which is almost like a BDDI but with the VT voice and all. That thing actually looks pretty bad a**. Maybe check that one out. But a BDDI and duality would be a pretty sweet match. The duality, again, is a fuzz box. The B3K a dist. The blower box is a rat type dist that can do OD to dist to almost fuzz and it does all those very very well IMO.

Sorry I get what you mean I was under the impression that TS doesn't have a very good amp for the time being and was hoping the Sans would help him achieve something like that, so what I meant was maybe it's worth him saving up for a new amp because I don't think a Sans will help him at this point in time. Not saying you can't run a preamp pedal in front of your rig cause I do that with my tone hammer :)

Ah yes, in his case I agree, I thought you we're just generalising.

It's all good. These things aren't for everyone.

LOL I just saw the Tortuga Sasquatch demo and this is the pedal from hell.

It does have a Duality sound to it. Too bad its pricey too. But damn, what a pedal.

You should check out the great destroyer in that case. I still want to get one of those. Or even a B:assmaster. Yummy. I have a VFE wood chipper that's a clone of the old maestro fuzz. As is the b:assmaster. You want some raunchy fuzz, look no further. I actually traded my DG duality for the VFE. And I'm a HUGE DG fanboy......

There doesnt seem to be a lot of exposure for the wood chipper.

Oh I know, I had my doubts as well when the guy offered me a trade in a different forum. There's only like one or two links to follow when you google it. I originally wanted a b:assmaster, fell in love with that sound. When I found out that VFE made a fuzz modeler after the same thing the b:assmaster was, I was sold. VFE discontinued the wood chipper and are making a v2. They're putting knobs in where the switches are on the v1. Supposed to be out sometime soon. The form factor got me too because the b:assmaster is friggen huge and real estate is an issue for me most times. The Diabolik is supposed to be a slimmed down version of the b:assmaster but I didn't think it had nearly the tonal options so I went with the VFE. I don't regret it for a second.
