Tedeschi/Trucks Beacon theater 5/24/25.pro-shot

Saw them a while back, and I'll agree with all the comments about Susan's voice - she was amazing. Derek, however, I found really hard to listen to. Meandering solos that didn't fit the song they were inserted into, with seemingly random key changes, horrible pacing, then he'd do it again in the next song. Maybe it was a bad night for him (his reputation is stellar), or maybe I'm missing the big deal, but that night - oy vey!

I'd see them again if I had the chance, but when the band leaves the stage for Derek to do his LONG solo I'll go hit the restroom and snack bar.

Derek is not afraid of eastern tonality or even taking it "out" in his solos, but he is a master of building a solo and simmer and boil. Same with Kebbi their sax player, the cat is a beast. Everybody in that band is a stud!😎

Thanks for posting the video! Absolutely love TTB. Usually listen to their live shows on etree live music archives. Got tickets to see them in August. Be my third time seeing them and they always bring the house down. First time saw them with Tim Lefebvre on bass. Dude is a monster of the low end.
