Tele bass strings

This is just a finding that I discovered while changing the strings on my Squier Vintage modified precision TB-

I have been running GHS pressurewounds for about the last year. They worked good at balancing the tone with neck placed humbucker, but lost a lot of presence over time.

Today I decided to try a set of Fender flats , .055 .070 .090 .105 .

Problem was that the balls at the end of the Pressurewounds were too large, and jammed into the thru body holes.

Eventually I got them dislodged with a wine cork remover- just a pain in the butt, but something I thought should be posted.

BTW- the Fender flats are awesome on this bass, sound great, and feel way smoother than the pressurewounds. !

Also lowered the pickup a bit at neck side, and raised the other side a bit. This seemed to give the bass more punch .
