TeleBass copy Bridge replacement or mods?

Hi fellow TBers

I have a Tele bass copy with the a top string through bridge. I was wondering would making it a string through body change the tone or sustain? What about a bridge replacement.

I recently changed the strings to DR Hi Beams and WOW! I loved that slight P bass tone it got ( I also lowered the pup a little). I'm enjoying this bass but was wondering if I should replace the bridge with a BA II or gotoh. The only problem I have with the original is that the E adjustment is seized up and the saddles move around from time to time.

Any thoughts? While I'm here What about routing in a 50s style pup in the center. Someone here said that he got a p bass sound from a split coil. Hmm.. the pup could also be tapped ... 3 basses in one? Haha I'm dreaming

EDIT pic is before I got the stringed changed.
Thanks for any input.

I like the Gotoh 201 style bridges because they aren't ridiculous looking like the BA bridges, and they have grooves for the adjustment screws to ride in so they cant move around. You can get a Squier CV bridge from Link Removed for a bit less than the Gotoh 201. I like it even better.
