Telemaster Bass...

a lot of innovative stuff there. i dig your attention to detail. that would never work on a mass produced level.. its too personal. but it sure is cool.

I think that's the idea. A luthier puts out in a lifetime what the big guys put out in a day (or in some cases way more than that). There is joy and love put into instruments that are tools for making music. A CNC can't put that sort of mojo into a bass. IMO, even playing a bass can't put that kind of mojo into a bass. This is why I don't get all hot and bothered over "real closet classic" basses etc. Even when handmade, they follow a basic pattern and conform. I love innovation and new ideas. It takes something pretty cool, and makes it not only a tool for art, but a truly unique piece of art/craftsmanship in of itself.
