Showbiz - finding their voice, some partially justified partially unfair radiohead comparisons due to the falsetto vocals and indie-esque songs. this was before the money kicked in, matt is using peavey wolfgangs and les paul studios with pedals taped to them. muscle museum and sunburn are great songs.
O of Sym - breakthrough album in europe, promotes the band to headline status and they start filling 10,000 seater venues, heres where the prog starts to come through, songs get longer and more epic, with killer riffs (plug in baby, newborn, feeling good etc) matt is using custom mansons soon after...
Hullabloo - live dvd/cd, some would argue this is their live peak, and with good cause. I saw them twice on this tour and they were excellent. this is where the big arena spectacle begins....
Absolution - level par with OoS, prog is proggier, riffs are riffier, more epic themes. this album was recorded 10 mins away from where i live! saw them on this tour too, albeit in a smaller venue....
Black holes - some would say a mis step, muse fans at this point baulked at supermassive blackhole, was this a new britney spears single? it wasnt so bad though, some great songs, cydonia included, didnt this break them in the states? promoted them to arena superstars over here.....festivals, glasto, wembley....
HAARP: if you'd never seen muse before, this would blow you away, and it is impressive, they're now the 21st century queen, but die hard fans still go back to hullabaloo...
The resistance - meh, whats gone wrong guys? bands producing themselves is not always a good idea....
