I’d like to issue @Matt Kustom an apology,
I had ordered a some super ferrite's from Matt some time ago for a peavey grind 5/ b quad 5 hybrid mutt
They were good soundingn pickups- so his quality was there..
But I had an issue with them being super microphonic.. He told me this was the way they were from factory (privately) and after this point I said something in the public group stating this and bashed him publicly without a moment to think clearly and carefully.
I also disbanded the chat and didn't respond back to him, nor did I give him a chance to correct it and rectify it.. And that's on me as as I thought and assumed he wouldn't
But I was wrong.. I messaged him on a whim for my new Kiesel and decided to ask him, he messaged promptly and though I was a thorn, still treated me with great service despite what happened in the past. As well as saying it I still had them he would re-work them/ tweak them
I should have given him a chance, and I should I have been better as a customer
Thank you @PeaveyPlayer for issuing a apology.
Very appreciated.
I have worked hard to keep everyone happy over the 10 years I have been designing , manufacturing parts and winding pickups.
No one has had to wait long periods to get their pickups and no one has ever been ignored or dismissed or disrespected.
I have always worked threw any issues with the customer till they are fully satisfied.
To date the problems over 10 years and hundreds of pickups are 3 pickups that were microphonic. 1 set of SF p Bass was DOA .
1 Super Neo was microphonic and was handled by customers Luthier by dipping in paraffin. They were cool about it and it was very appreciated.
1 custom Humbucker that was requested without wax. New pickup was sent out next day
1 set was sent to Peavey Player.
The SF P was replaced immediately along with a complimentary set of Neodymium P for any inconvenience.
Due to 2 pickups having microphonic issues SF pickups are no longer unwaxed. SF pickups now get a light bath in paraffin for about 5 minutes just to fill any gaps that could create a issue.
I appreciate what @XsoGol has started here on talk bass and the business that has been received because of it.
Something that can hurt a pickup business is a Shadow of Doubt. This is why I requested a public apology from Peavy Player. I do not want anyone to think I'm not 100%.
Peavy Player is welcome to inquire and order pickups.
This custom pickup shop was started due to the shinanigans of pickup assemblers. To offer pickups that are actually custom , to offer high quality materials , to not make paying customers wait forever, and to not rip any one off like SDG pickups. Getting ripped off for a Neodymium P/j set myself was the last straw and many thousands of dollars has been spent along with countless hours building a custom shop from nothing.
I hope this has relieved and doubt that might have been created by the public statements made.
If anyone has any questions or concerns you can always DM
Matt Kustom.
