Tell me what you think

Howdy,
My band has submitted a couple of recordings to a local online contest. I'd be much obliged if TBers would head over and take a listen. If you want to do me a favor and vote high (I have the nasty feeling that a lot of contestants run around voting low for other bands), that would be cool, but I'm (even) more interested in your feedback. Please leave comments on TB (as opposed to the website) so I know to take them more seriously.
The songs were recorded at our guitarist's shed and mixed using Pro Logic, and the bass is a Fender Highway 1 Jazz into an Eden 405, and then direct into the board from there.
Thanks so much!

The bass sounds good - and is mixed well - on both the tunes, I think. The only thing that sticks out to me is the lead/melodic guitar on "Bound To Fail", it's got such a flat and lifeless tone to it I feel like it detracts from the energy of the song. That's my only criticism. They're both promising songs in general, I think. Good luck in the contest!
