Double Bass Ten 2 Ext Cabinet

Has the Ten 2 Extension Cabinet ever been updated? I own a Ten 2 amp (800 watts version). Since the amp was updated I wondered if the same happened with the cabinet. If so, how was it changed? Would the updated version work with my amp?

It will work just fine. The updates are mostly in the changing of the drivers from Neo to Ceramic magnets - this only has an effect in weight (the new one is about 3 lbs heavier than the old one.) But Rick says that the new one has a little bit better sound overall, but that the old and new blend together just fine.

There is a tweeter in the Ten2 Combo and EX cabs; so yes, there is a crossover. However, it is crossed over pretty high, so the bulk of the frequency range is coming from the woofers.

They are identical drivers and, AFAIK, get the same exact signal. The bottom driver does have an adjustable passive attenuator (room coupling control) so you can reduce boominess, but set at -0db it should be getting the same signal as the front-firing woofer.
