Test your Ear

No offence to people who play classical musical, but in my experience talking, studying and playing with them they seem to be incredibly good at technique, theory, reading is exceptional yet can't seem to improvise or play much from ear - even my grade 12 music teacher said he'd been playing piano and organ for 40 years, classically trained and could read 3 staves of music simultaneously (he did this with Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach on a church organ - two keyboards and one for his feet!!! Very impressive) yet had only that year begun learning to improvise and said he found it really difficult. Take away the sheet music and they're stranded. But I guess they look at a lot of people who can solo over rock and walk over jazz but can't read notation when put in front of them and think similarly!

I got 69 point something. I hate that effing test. It's more about memory than anything else. Also when you click on one of the two buttons the next clip starts too quickly. No offense to you guys getting higher scores, but I think that this test shows very little of what one's true practical musical abilities is.

Or then I just suck big time, and this test shows why I've never gotten any good at jazz and am deemed to eternal failure when it comes to that. :crying:

And no, I didn't see a repeat button either.

Edit: 72,2 % best now after three tries today. Still not satisfying. :hmm:

Edit2: Suddenly 86,1% correct... :)
