I would say definitely YES it was a joke. I've seen other bands do the same thing on their myspace pages.

My grind band put that we were inspirational Christian rap, someone actually thought we were actually Christian too..it was pretty funny.

I met That 1 Guy at his home in California at a house party he was having with some other people I knew. I was floored by his backyard pipe performance. I've seen him a bunch of other times since then but not recently.

Personally, I don't even like grindcore that much, I was just saying that That 1 Guy does not show any of those characteristics.

Does not show any of th... oh... bu... wha... you... Here's what is wrong with that definition;

He definitely uses heavily distorted (effectively) down-tuned guitars, has punk influenced riffing and writes short songs. His vocal style is varied and could quite easily be described as "consisting of growls and higher-pitched vocals" and his lyrical content sits very neatly within the confines of that incredibly loose definition!

Ok ok, he's not grindcore, sorry for upsetting the delicate balance and I hope that EMO bands don't find themselves suddenly reclassified in the wake of my foolish actions. Heaven forbid that the ripple I have caused in the genre-pigeon-hole-space-time-continuum is so damaging that they will be flung off into space in a rapidly decaying orbit towards the sun... and what a shame that would be, eh?

Quite interesting. I like it! I would like to see some tech specs on that instrument he's playing, I love that weird DIY stuff.

BTW Wikipedia is user modifiable so don't expect everything to be completely true. Grind and grindcore are two different animals.
