I hate dust...............

Looking amazing Miz! absolutely stunning... oh and beta tester UK reporting for duty :)

:D

I hate Illinois nazis. Great work Mizio! Those PUs look KILLER on that beauty!!! I bet the chambered body just sounds killer and is a great sibling to the M1.
Cheers.

Thanks. It does. I'm in love with how it sounds unplugged. It's so resonant and articulated. I am now officially in love with chambers. ;)

Told you so!.....:hyper:

Glad we had our discussions. :)

Fantastic work, as always!

Suggestion. Since the motif is black/chrome accessories, consider black fret markers next time. Or maybe an ebony fretboard/ polished nickel fret markers.

Your building skills and concepts are evolving nicely. It's great that you check in with your TB brothers on your projects! We all enjoy a good show and you put on one of the best.

miziomix, congratulations on a great bass with a host of interesting features !

Could you please post a picture of the headstock back with the strings installed. Thanks :bassist:

Thanks!

At the moment I can't post that picture due to a patent process that I'm discussing with layers. I'll do that as soon as they er... release me

I forgot to properly reply to Mr. Stumbo here :) Thank you mate. I have truly enjoyed our talks and your suggestions are always interesting.

Visually speaking Ebony is one of my fav woods. It's bold, radical, uncompromising. It can really sign off a build if the combo is right. Polished nickel markers are cool. And so is brass ;)

Stealth, thank you so much! JD, coming from you...with your gorgeous basses... it's overwhelming.

As soon as I can I'll upload sound clips and possibly a video of this Eldorado dude :D

These day I've been busy finalizing the specs for the next two builds. One is a 5er, the other a 4 with graphite/composite neck. The former will start as soon as some of the woods arrive - can't wait really. The future owner has gracefully given permission to post a thread here (Thanks H!) so you'll see something pretty soon.

The latter is in the hands of the graphite gods. I'm searching for someone who can make a neck with my specs....darn it's hard! :rollno:

P-ups are wired.

The lace Aluma J are very powerful indeed. So much so that I'll have to lower them.
The overall sound is not far from what I heard unplugged. It's very full and deep, with an almost acoustic quality to it.

Slap comes out very snappy and articulated. Each note comes out very defined - especially very fast combinations. And I have rediscovered the beauty of V/V/T ;)

These days are very busy...but I'll find time to adjust the p-ups height and do the final set up.

And it's time to move on to the next build :D

Hi there! it has been a few weeks since my last update...work...
Yesterday and today were devoted to the final set up. A few frets needed more work to get rid of some buzzing.

Hope you noticed my never-without tools: the magnifying glass - I know Stumbo... I know... ;) - and, most importantly, The Red T-Shirt (TM)

It plays the key role of keeping the steel wool dust from getting stuck inside and around the p-ups. Of course a yellow one works just fine.

When the buzzing frets have surrendered a tiny drop of superglue seals the deal.

I'm left with making the knobs. For the time being I will use the nipples ;) And will upload a sound clip soon.

I am very glad with how this one turned out. Very much a brother to the Mark1 yet so different in many ways.

In a few days I will start a new thread. It won't be the fiver fretless I mentioned earlier though.

Two U-J have been confirmed recently - a fiver and a four They're both very cool projects :bassist:

The first thread will be the making of the Ü-J 5 Splated Maple - and what a Maple!! :D

So, the 5 fretless will have to wait a bit.

Thank you so much for following this build, for your kind words and priceless advices :)
