I just got my acceptance letter for RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology), including scholarship!

Why UC's? Do you not want an education?
I went to HS out there (Saugus High in the SCV) but I had to get the fudge out of SoCal as soon as I graduated.
I know a lot of smart folks who went to UC schools. Good luck. Which one is your favorite?
San Diego. Well, it's between San Diego and Berkeley. Both are amazing schools that will do my poly-sci thing well, but from what I've heard the stigma lots of east-coast schools have about Berkeley might hurt me when I go to the east for grad school, so SD seems like a bit safer.
Plus... I love SoCal.
Congratulations - RIT is my son's first choice school but he hasn't heard either way. I was impressed by the computer department's facilities and professors. What are you planning to study?
I just got accepted to UVM (rolling decision). Safety school for me, but it's nice to know that I have a good school to go to in the event my top choice doesn't accept me.
Burlington is a fun city, especially when you're a college student. If you do end up here, maybe we'll end up partying together.

At least, that's the program I applied for. (I might change it to Electrical or Computer Engineering)

what i would like to do is work at some car company in the development and research department.
I'll find out Monday if my top choice invited me to their candidates weekend, which is basically the second part of their admission process. I'm so nervous.

As it happens, I just finished making calls to a number of students and notifying them that they have been accepted to Washington State University - one of the very few Division 1, Research-1 schools still located in a small college town (27,000 people). It's a fantastic place. http://www.wsu.edu

well... im only a junior, but i've been getting swamped with mails and e-mails from different schools... but what you have sounds exactly what i want... i plan to apply early option @ RIT next fall for mechanical w/ auto... but i suppose i should prolly start looking at other schools just in case...
Will finally have my AA in may. Should have just got it in 2005, but life got took some turns here and there. But, in the fall I'll be moving out of state, and then waiting a year to qualify for in-state tuition. So, I'm a little behind the curve, but it's just as well; I have no more idea what I want to do now than I did in 2004. Upshot is, I now have a better idea what I do not want to do, so I guess that's something...
heh, exactly the same case here. I get at least one letter every day, plus about 50 emails. I had to start another email account because my old one was so flooded with college spam...

That's why you don't put your email address on the PSAT, SAT, etc.
My son got into Rochester Institute of Technology. That was his first choice school. He'll be in the Information Technology department.
I'll admit to sweating it out a bit as he didn't get into a local school that is supposed to be a somewhat less selective than RIT. However, I am confident that he'll justify the faith that the RIT admissions folks put in him.
So far I've gotten into UCSD and UCSB.
