The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

Dallas doesn't deserve a freaken team... Thats not a crowd! thats bunch of people seating around not knowing whats going on... To all who talk trash about sharks fans and how san jose should not have a team, what the hell is that? We are decent fans compared to that crowd. And what's with the chick with a sign "Go stars, sweep them 3-0" are you kidding me? This is not ping-pong...

Loosing i hate, loosing to team with crappy fans is just crap. I'd be ok if they had fans that actually cheered or even showed up to the game.

Dallas has plenty of real fans. Most of them can't afford to go to the playoff games, because of the prices. Most of the stiffs that can afford to go to the playoffs don't know crap about hockey.

GO STARS!!!

The Pens keep on rolling.....seven straight. We really do need to lose a game soon. I don't want these guys getting too cocky.

I'm sure the token Rangers fan will show up in the morning to put his spin on how it's all about Sid, but the Pens looked really sharp tonight. Staal is doing an awesome job anchoring the third line, and the penalty killers are performing very well.

I don't know about that.
I watched the re-run of the 3rd period yesterday.
Biron is looking Brodeur-esque...

...and, meanwhile, the Habs can't figure out who to stick in net.
How 'bout Gump Worsley?

(Your prediction will come true because I just talked a little ****)

Wings are up 3-0 and with Franzen emerging as a solid playoff contributor and second big stick around the net with Holmstrom they're looking pretty solid. Remember the Wings were one bad call and three injured defenseman away from the finals last year.

Sid sucks, but Malkin is the man ;) If it wasn't for Sid I would definitely be a Pens fan.

If only Lilja was one of the injured d-men last year. I'm thrilled that we picked up Stuart and that Lebda is playing instead of Andreas the chronic goat. Franzen is making a case for a Conn Smythe candidate pretty much from out of nowhere, though the astute wings fans will point out that Franzen was the team's top scorer in the preseason but missed a bunch of games early on due to injury then flourished with the additional ice time he was given due to Holmstrom's injury.

second round is going fast...i really thought these would be a little closer...

surely if dallas and detroit play it will be at least 6 right?

You'd think so, but historically Detroit has owned Dallas, so they may be in Turco's head. That said, I'd call the series Detroit in 6. The Stars/Wings series will likely determine the cup champion barring any catastrophic collapses. I've got a gut feeling the Pens are the new version of the Sharks- hitting their hot streak early but the wheels will come crashing off in the final, much like the Sharks had the great streak to finish the season then the wheels came off in the 2nd round.

This just in-
Rangers' Sean Avery ruptured his spleen & was sent to the hospital with cardiac arrest after last night's game?

He's out for the remainder of the season...Rangers sayin' he should be good-to-go for next season.

Apparently, the initial report was wrong-

"The Daily News first reported on its Web site Wednesday morning that Avery was taken to St. Vincent's in cardiac arrest. The newspaper said he was unconscious and not breathing when taken to the hospital".
