I'm in:
G&L 2000 - Best Bang for the buck in the $1000 to $1200 range. Not perfect, but dang close. Best neck of the bunch, most versitile.
Rick 4001 - Great player, fast as they get, somewhat tight string spacing, VERY versitile (despite the rumors you've heard) My primary weapon for many years
77 Pbass - Fairly lightwieght for a Pbass, has the one and only Pbass tone, a must have in any collection. If I got the blues, I get the P out.
2- T-40's - I LOVE this bass with a passion, probably my favorite Estring of the bunch wide, flat neck got one the first year they came out. Have two because I just picked up serial number 0000000 from a friend on ebassist.
Steinberger Spirit - Great bang for the buck, takes a little getting used to. not real strong in a mix. Great for tavel or backup.
SRX505 - My first 5 string, great 5 string neck , good pups, iffy electronics too light (basswood body) nice looker, nonComs give a lot of ohhs and ahhs when they see it. I think one of the best bangs for the buck 5 string around.
Carvin Fretless - I really should sell this to someone who actually plays fretless worth a crap, cause this thing MWAAA's for days! I absolutly love the sound and the neck on this bass, just lack the dicipline to utilize it much.
Epiphone Accubass - yuk, get bass to leave at my guitarist's house (sounds much better since I put a Symour Duncan 1/4 pounder in it, the pup is worth more than the bass)
Gibson EBO - Makes the Epiphone sound good. This is the legendary "sound of a dead cat being beaten against wet cardboard" bass. The designer should be shot with a slow bullet so it hurts going in....and hurts coming out.
BDVK - You couldn't handle the BDVK bass.
FDVK - You couldn't handle the FDVK bass any more than the BDVK bass.
Johnson Acoustic - I love to play with my Johnson. Takes on the Spirit for best bang for the buck. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try out an Acoustic. Big Bodied and loud for the type.
Hammer Slammer Shortscale - Another great deal, great starter bass for kids (30" scale) and you can gets some very decent sounds out of it.
Carvin Bunny Brunnel Great sounding 5 string with wide spacing and a contoured neck, surprisingly comfortable neck. I was really suprized by the sounds I get out of this after reading many "bland" claims about Cavin's sound. Not this baby.
Fender Jaguar essentially A Geddy Lee without the BA II bridge (same shaved neck with different inlays and same pups) and active preamp added. Preamp sound surprisingly good for a Fender. Wildly popular and deservedly so.
SX Jazz bass - new, great bang for the buck.
