The 810 Fan Club!!

Here is my fridge. I've since replaced that very heavy and bulky rack with a sweet little LMII. This cab is alot easier to move around than two 410's or any combination of cabs. I've tried different amps with this cab and it makes them all sound big. I got real lucky and met a very nice gentleman on CL and picked up this almost new cab for cheap. Oh yeah, can I get a number:bassist:

Here it is with the line 6 HD750.....

I hear you about packing around 2 410's...i got tried of it myself...ended up trading one of my 410' for my 810...and am much happier...esp with the sound!!.
And yes you can have a number....you are #10!!!

With the infinite baffle design, the 810 vs 410/410 differences should be minimal. Heck, if you got 4 210s stacked together, it should probably still sound about the same.

They sound close but not the same.I find my Megoliath 810 a lot deeper and more fuller then my 2 Goliath 410 setup....a lot of it has to do mind you to the fact that the 810 is wider, deeper and ported differently as well as the fact that it only has one horn compared to the 2 that the 410's had!!all i all i find the 810 just has that bit of extra Kick that the 2 410's had..the guys in my band say they can tell a difference too!! So yeah i donno i like it and am very happy with it!!

Alex, with no ports or tweeters you are probably right. I haven't found a 4x10 that Ampeg makes that is 1/2 of a 810E, however 4 210AVs would probably do the trick ... Then again, I would rather wheel once than carry twice. Cheers.

I'm in the midst of restoring a 70s Ampeg 810!

I need 4 speakers, and someone spraypainted the blue clothe black
:<

...and I did just acquire an SVT-VR.

Canadian Bonus points eh? : My great grandfather immigrated from canada.

Does this qualify??

I think fliptops can get you a replacement grill. I don't know where to get the speakers. Send JimmyM a PM he will talk you through step by step to know what speakers you have in there right now. If they are original they are worth re-coning and since it is a flatback cab you know they can't take as many watts as the new ones right? In '69 people bought 2 flatback 810's to go with a SVT and then they ran the head at 2 Ohms. Cheers.

Well Mate if you can get some pic's up then you will be member #11!! I donno about Canadian Bonus points...even though i am born canadian...my mom is an a American...so i have duel Citizenship...so it really dont matter where you from as long as you have a 810!!! ;)

Sweet. Pics asap.
This cab has no rails on the back, nor steel plate, but it has the towel rack handle.
I confirmed with ampeg that the serial is nearly impossible. I'm still guessing 1979.

Kosmic, I've never heard of reconing speakers!

Well, I was talking specifically about the infinite baffle design which has boards across each 210, and it's also a sealed cab. The Megoliath is a ported design which is quite different.
