Well, I don't have a picture. What I really wanted to do was comment on the 810. i was, for a while, into the small lightweight rig - and still have several things to choose from. The deal was, although I could always hear myself on stage, I could not feel it like I wanted. I was always trying to increase bass feqs to get to that feel level and then would usually cause booming in small to medium bars. As well as push my amp too hard to do this - always ported cabs by the way. So on a whim i ran across a good deal to trade a bass straight across for an Ampeg 810e in good condition. Fast forward to my first show.......... Wow. Really, wow! I was not trying to push really loud volumes but the feel, the fullness and the instant slotting into the mix was really something new for me. I am amazed I have never played through one in over 20 years playing but just never did. I honestly feel a little funny about rolling it in to small clubs but gosh it seem s worth it to me as long as there are no stairs. Otherwise it was not really that much harder to move than other band gear - PA etc. I think I am really hooked. I got the idea from watching a band called Marbin - they play all over the US and the bassist always uses this same cab in all kinds of venue sizes, watches his volume and sounds really good. Glad I did. Okay, enough with that, on with the thread.

I was the bassist in Marbin for two and a half years! I bought that 810 in Downers Grove IL back in 2010 (I think I paid $400 for it). I had an Aguilar DB751 that I used with it. Amazing sounding rig. I had the same reaction when I first used it live. It really changed the sound of the band and the way I played. We also used that rig in every venue, regardless of size.

I ended up selling the cab back to the band when I quit the group in July 2012. The bassist after me, Jae Gentile, continued to use it. The cab got really beat up from being in the trailer for so many years. When I saw Marbin play a few years later, one side was just bare wood haha. Still sounded great of course.

I still miss that rig, changed my overall concept of bass tone forever. I can't tell whether you saw me or Jae in the band, but you definitely saw that cab. Thanks for bringing back those memories for me.
