The Alembic F-1X Megathread

It's fall, gigs up here in Michigan are slowing down and I'm trying to get some gear maintenance done after a busy summer. Do any of you know specifically which knobs you need to replace the Crossover and HPF Level knobs on the F-1X?

Are these the ones? They don't mention their preamps in the description. Link Removed Which size?

I tried to call Alembic earlier this year to ask, they offered to put an order together and took my credit card info but never processed an order. I don't even use those features, but the knobs have been gnarled since I bought it used and I want to get them replaced.

I got mine second-hand for stupid cheap money. Like seriously stupid cheap. As in I payed so little for it that when, after 20 years of faithful service it experienced some technical hiccups and I had to send it back to Alembic for service, their minimum bench fee (15 minutes) was more than I paid for the unit.

...which I happily paid. Deals are out there, you just need to find some clown who has no idea what a Superfilter is.
I found them at Guitar Center.

The SF-2 is an incredible piece of kit. I've had one in my rig for over 20 years.

That's good advice, if you're searching for a used one. So many people don't know what they are, or how to use them, that they tend to sell them for far less than they're worth.

Keep in mind the EQ controls are highly interactive, but great tones lurk within! I've had two, and keep thinking about another one.
