I'll swing by Blabbermouth from time to time and once in a blue moon spot something of interest, but the biggest takeaway I have is a growing sympathy for so many of these guys that should just stop already. So many just look to be on death's door all tattoed and pierced up with skin as grey as last week's fried chicken. Like that bloated, hairy perv from across the street who keeps the JD next to the his shotgun and spaghetti-O stash .

At some point I would just think they'd look in the mirror and make some adjustments in direction - "Am I still really this angry all these years later?" I'm not denying there are some good acts out there in the vintage class of heavier music, but the vast majority have just turned sad and silly.

And here he is now with a new album out with a picture of him young on the album but when people see him in concert he is going to look like THIS! EEEEEK!!!!!

One of the things I respect about Lamb of God, from my home state capital, is that they don't seem to care about image:

don't buy it. everything is packaged. that they don't seem to care just means they're really good at it.

Well...what should we say? Getting older happens, I pray you relish it as much as I have. I shall, 'til I canna nae more put my hands on the bass. When I was a youth it gave me a reason to live, a reason to be! I shared my youth in all it's awkwardness AND freshness with as many as would pay to see. I wrote and performed MY songs. As an elder Rock'n'Roll survivor and statesman, I WILL continue to share...my love, my passion, my TALENT with as many of you as can fit in the room. WE have been given the GIFT of sharing art...and if our appearance is appalling to you, you're free to move on. I will die, that much I know. But please...don't kill us off before our time. No, I'm not, which is why it just makes me shrug when people are picking apart a photo of a band who are all wearing black & have facial hair. They're reaching too far methinks.

i'm not picking it apart. i'm saying whatever anyone's "look" in the music business is, it's cultivated. i don't think there's anything derogatory about that.

My take on image is coming from the days of when WASP were doing all kind of crazy stuff with fake saw blades & Ronnie James Dio was sitting on thrones with dragons in the background, so wearing black t-shirts is a far cry from that IMHO.

I believe that they dress like their audience -- still living at home in mom's basement, unemployed, no money for clothes, etc.

That crowd "keeps it real".

It's a totally contrived "image".
