I saw AC/DC last night with 40,000 people and for a band with a 67 year old singer and 60 year old lead guitarist, they were still relevant and cool to the crowd of teenagers up to seniors.

I guess some people would look at Angus weird if he walked by on the street because of the hair, but who cares.

I am 46 and a metal guy, but cut my hair and no longer wear spandex and other stuff much too tight for someone my age. I think I dress really cool and am hip and I'm sure my kids just laugh behind my back...... Who cares?

I have, but only when racing a road bike. Many moons ago, the only band looking for a bassist in town was a Poison tribute band. No way. Nope. A few years later I joined a racing club (not considered a team because that term is reserved for professionals). Suddenly I was wearing purple and neon green. Kinda like being in a Poison tribute band, minus having to play Poison. Bonus.

Anyhoo, most folks aren't aging well, including people who complain about other people not aging well.

Maybe I've known 'metal' to be a younger man's game (with rare exception) by the themes that carry the genre - broad defiance and a self-granted immortality. Just one man's view. And that's not to say we all don't age, but given the levels of energy required to pull off some of these acts, I just feel bad for some of the guys who have really beaten themselves up over a long period of time.

I have to disagree with broad defiance and self-granted immortality carrying the genre. Have you listened to the lyrics from Black Sabbath's first few albums? Iron Maiden?, etc? There are many underlying themes in the Metal genre. Pop music on the other hand, is much easier to generalize
