This weekend I'm doing a limited engagement with the band that started it all. I haven't seen Johnny P (Rhythm guitar guy) in about 14 years. We had a practice last night in preparation for the coming performance, and it was just like riding a bike. (my taint hurts for some reason today) This Saturday may not be a great performance, but it's going to be fun!

The DHR band circa 1990 something or other:

And approximately 20 years later: ( the lead singer and driver of the Winnebago was absent yesterday.)

I am STOKED!! This is going to be FUN!! :bassist:

Black metal bass? Check.
Flip Flops? Check.
Pink shorts? Check.
Hawaiian shirt? Check.

What was your homo-erotic percentage back then? ;)

Good luck on your gig, sorry to hear about your taint.

I wasn't even aware of my homo-erotic percentage. I didn't even realize the Village People had homosexual overtones. I just thought they did an awful lot of songs about guys......:rollno:

That was the second bass I ever owned. I sold it in '93 to finance my Ric, so that photo is from before that.

It's kind of a Hawaiian themed thing. I thought I was stylin! (Odds are pretty good I was in an altered state of consciousness at the time the picture was taken.)

Wow, that is cool
what style are you playing?

Well, I guess it would be classic rock done garage style. It was kinda rough at practice, but it all came back. I'm the only one still gigging today, so a few cobwebs and maybe a train wreck is to be expected. The club is going to be PACKED so I'm thinking the management won't care if the band isn't exactly "professional grade" for a set or 2. DHR people's tend to drink a LOT!
