The bass player amp association game

1: Too many, but the short list is Nick Beggs, Sting, Geddy Lee, and Michal Manring

2: Not playing currently. Looking to change that in the near future, but bar gigs aren't appealing to me.

3: Warwick Corvette Standard 4. I will let go of this instrument when someone prys it from my cold, dead hands.

4: This is dependant on if I have to move it myself or not. If I have to move it myself, it'll be my current sub (Warwick AWXV) with a Bag end Q10BX-D, and some head that I'd have to research, but I'm leaning to the Mesa/Boogie Walkabout. If I *don't* have to move it myself, I'd like 2 Mesa/Boogie 1516's in RoadReady format (I know they aren't manufactured anymore:crying: ) and a Crown K2 to power them. I'll procure my own preamp. :)

You're suppose to be a bass player, dammit. :spit: Also, no active pickups. I hate those batteries.
4) My rig would be a Peavey Max 700 (or maybe one of their new amps when the come out) and two 15's. It's simple, reliable, loud, and very cheap. I'm very practical when it comes to amps. I'm more concerned about playing music than some $3000 worth of bells and whistles. I've played though those so called high end rigs, and I'd say they aren't worth the price tag. That's just me, though.

1) James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey, Roscoe Beck, Bakithi Kumalo
2) Anything from Blues to Jazz to Rock to Soul to World Music: I love them all and need a band again.
3)'88 CIJ Fretless Jazz, heavily modified
4) I'd love a Thunderfunk TFB550, and a pair of Schroeders to run it through. I've only heard three Schroeders in person but I loved them, and then I see the Schroeder worship here and it doesn't help.

1. I started out on guitar, then learned bass through my high school jazz band, so I don't exactly have any bassist influences. I really like Les Claypool, but I don't really play like him. I play very bluesy, and a little funky, with some metal thrown in. I like to emulate a little of Hendrix's style, just in a bass-y way.
2. Funk/Blues/Rock/METAL
3. Ibanez SR506, and now paired with a Jay Turser J-Bass
4. Damned if I know. I'm just a musician, I have no idea what would sound good with my stuff. When I'm in the market, however, I'll be sure to ask you guys first.
