I drink soda water and lime for the first set, some sort of flavorful beer (Sierra Nevada or something) if there's second set, and if there's a third...a shot of Cuervo 1800 (or something better if the bar's buying) might be in order.

I am quite the beer snob. I happen to live in Philadelphia where there are plenty of awesome bars serving microbrews from around the world. Big fan of belgian beers. Also a fan of Lancaster Milk Stout (delicious beer from Lancaster, PA brewed with milk.....gotta love them Amish peeps!)

Not much of a hard alcohol drinker. Just beer and wine usually

I was just thinking the same thing. Tequila on the rocks for me, but only the good stuff -- strictly 100% agave tequila. Best-for-the-buck that I can find in my neighborhood -- eastern Virginia not being particularly big tequila country -- is 1800 brand silver/blanco, but gimme a Cabo Wabo or Don Julio when I've got some extra change in my pocket.

Off stage: A couple of bottles of Blue Moon will hold me over well. Newport and Fat Tire also get the job done.

Now it is water before and during gigs. Throat Coat tea afterwards (yes I sing a lot at my new gig).

Patron silver. I like the silvers, the anejos or reposados, while typically more expensive, just don't do it for me. Many good ones El Tesoro, Milagro, Silvercoin, Don Julio is good, Don Eduardo, De Reyes, too many to mention. I likes me tequila, but I'm conservative until after the gig.

At the lake it's Captain Morgans and premium ginger ale, with a twist of lime. AAHHHH, mothers milk!!

our band ritual is a shot before we hit the stage (patron if i am in charge). and i like a guiness per set.

our practices are fueled by a good (great) friend's homebrew.

i try to stay away from booze at gigs, especially if it's an r&b or jazz thing where i have to be on my game!

when i'm doing rock gigs and fill-ins i'll often hit a few pints of kilkenny - love the stuff!!

Up in Portland Maine we still get free beers at two local hot spots. Can't drink it onstage anymore as it's a huge fine if you get caught. Most dudes risk it. One place brews their own and it's tremendous. I played there last week and had MANY stout's.
