The Beer Home Brewers Thread

Here's mine. Best home improvement project ever! ;)

It's tough work.

If you have Rogue beer in your area, I'm a big fan of their 650ml bottles and other various big fliptop bottles. I use the Rogue bottles for band practice since my guitarist doesn't drink.

Rouge does not use the flip top Grolsch type bottles. They use a 22oz that takes regular, press-on type beer caps. They are commonly known as "Bombers". I like to use them when I plan on giving away some beer. I use Grolsch type bottles when I bottle beer for consumption at home or when I know I'll get them back.

Ya.

I'm lucky that there's a nearby brewery that has decent sized flip top bottles at a good price, considering the beer is good and I get to reuse the bottle for homebrews. I have a flip top growler that I use from time to time on "party beers".

Ice bath is fine for extract, IMO, because it's not usually a full wort boil.

If you want to cool even faster, you can freeze then sanitize water bottles and drop them in the wort.

Looking good, by the way. Gabba gabba we accept you, we accept you, one of us ...
