Rad! Would have never guessed. Sill wonder if that's what was used in to original recording. Judging by this video, it doesn't seem to be the case. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a P in the original recording. If you searchd for older Specials movies you'd see that it's definitely a Fender bass... Can't tell if it's a P or J because all I can really see is the tuning pegs but yeah... I'd be suprised it if wasn't a P.

Horace Panter (a.k.a. Sir Horace Gentleman) used a P-bass back in the day, and used a 'Ray when I saw the reunion tour in '98.
