The best bass for thumping with a pick is:

IMHO, a Precision or a T-Bird are the best pick basses out there.
I got a P and J Bass. Buying one more bass and doing alot of punchy picking at the moment. I use both and I am quite liking it. Thought I would keep it general though and see what people thought sounded the best. Thinking I might pick up one more bass so I am thinking about another option that is NOT a P or J.
man I barely use pick, but I would say a rickenbacker ou a p , a rick you give you that clank, and the p that not harsh growl pick sound, the two sides of the coin

Like most here, I don't use a pick often - but the classic pick players in the past have played P's and Ricks.

There are only 2 basses I occaisionally play with a pick on.
Peavey T-40 with dead rounds and both pickups on full, nice deep but articulate
P-bass with vintage-style pickup and Rotosound 77s Flatwound strings, pure vintage thumpy happiness.

I'll bet that's tasty! Flats, I assume? I like to use a pick on my Glaub w/Darkstar, with flats.
