this is from the day I bought it, it has a spot between the pickups above the E string were I wore through the finish with my thumb from playing it, the pickups actually have grooves and marks in the from the strings vibrating and hitting them. The action on this bass is the best I've ever seen.

I played this exclusively for 5 years before I started making my own guitars and have since retired it. Seriously sets the standard for all the guitars I build

I actually saw that video you did on YT awhile back. That's the one I show people when they ask why I have such a thing for one of those.

Thanks for doing a decent showing of what that bass is capable of. Most people who demo basses love to slap, tap, and crank the distortion. So you never really get to hear what the instrument sounds like.

You caught some of that creamy midrange quality that era's Gibson basses were leaning towards.

BTW - the thumb wear through the finish is a "noble" scar. That's true mojo. It's not like it's abuse or relic-ing silliness.

Nice bass! Now I'm GASsing just a little over a Victory once again.

There are worse things.

I cast my vote somewhat reluctantly. My RD Standard was my first love. She is only on display these days because of the limited tone and thick cumbersome neck. But I love that gal till the end. She is a thing of beauty and was my first real instrument so the RD Standard gets my vote if nothing more than being faithful for forty years.

I have a Flying V (see avatar). I am not sure that it is my favorite Gibson but it exists and has two T-Bird plus pups in it. Roars like a mighty beast.
