THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

This was available semi locally. Was on Reverb for quite awhile (price was high), but I contacted the seller and we worked out a local deal that was much more reasonable. Was looking for 4HS but I do love a nice 5.

Was stoked to compare the 5HH to the 5HS (both BFRs which was cool too).

I think I prefer the HH, but the competition is close. The HS definitely has a nicer neck pickup sound, it's clearer and more P bass like than HH. But the HH is more aggressive blended which I like, and I like the blend towards the bridge on the HH better as well.

I always like to compare things through my own rig, my preferred strings and setup. I'm leaning towards putting this one up for sale. I don't really need two Bongos and they are much more similar than different. Let's see how I feel...

Look at that flamed and bird's-eye neck though

Looking at the used basses on Guitar Center's site can be dangerous. I was looking a few days ago and a gloss black Bongo 6 came up for a good price. It was listed as good condition and the photos were of decent quality and I could not spot a blemish on the bass. It did not have the typical "Bongo headstock ding" or any other marks that I could see. I called the store and the saleslady told me it is in fine condition and comes in the original hard case. I bought the bass and it will be here Wednesday. So I will have a pair of gloss black 6's (my other one is a great player but has a lot of dents and dings), a new Blood Orange 6 and my Barolo 5. I will take a photo of the basses after this second gloss black one arrives. I wish EB still offered gloss black. It is one of my favorite colors for the Bongo.

I think gloss black looks great on the Bongo too.

Congrats on the growing collection!

I'm after a Bongo 5 H next myself

Anyone’s else see the video posted on EBMM website feed of the Bongo 6 in action ? Wow!!😮. Scroll down to FEED section .

Pretty cool but the action on that Bongo is way too low imo. you can see from the size that hes got it maxed haha. I like more action to dig in and be more dynamic.

That being said, I wish I had that green BFR bass!
