...and I have a new pick guard for my Bongo 6. Formerly a well-worn copy of KISS: DESTROYER.

A bit of fine shaping and sanding yet to do, but it's very close. You wouldn't believe how much vinyl dust can collect on your arms in only a an hour of Dremel madness...

I've got a Black 5 HH on it's way and I'm excited. Never laid hands on one before, I'm hoping I'll like the neck and spacing. I'm all over the board with 4 bangers, but I find I'm way more picky when it comes to 5 string comfort.

I finally put some flats on my Bongo 5 (Jazz Flats). I really like the left hand feeling and the overall nice and full sound. I just find the G string a little too bright for my taste. Anybody knows if it'll tame over time?

flats mellow/deaden over time, but not nearly as much as rounds, because rounds start out so bright and end up dead. flats start out mellow and get mellower. does that make sense?

Kinda. You mean the sound changes less over time with flats than with rounds, right? Those flats aren't bright/harsh, that's for sure!

I guess I'll find out anyway, I just wanted to have a heads up about what's gonna happen.

Same thing happened to my Big Al (the bent knob). It messed me up, so I know the feeling. Messed me up so much I had to gamble with a plyers. If you're careful and willing to gamble the possible pot replacement if things go wrong, it CAN be bent back to normal. I say give it a go. You'd never know my Big Al ever had it's knob bent.

Yes i had bent it back to the position, but after bending back it is not as straight as original. That just filled with bad feeling
