THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

That's a very good price for those options. On another topic, I would like to buy an abalone pickguard for my incoming Bongo 4HH. Is there a significant difference in quality/fit between an EBMM original and a post-market model (WD, Pickguard Heaven, etc.?) If so, anyone know where I can get one? I'm aware that Perfect Bass carries them, but they don't seem to have the abalone in right now.

I just ordered a Bongo 4 Hp in February Candy Apple Red with an abalone pickguard. I called Music Man customer service to see if they still had those pickguards as an option. He said they did not but thought he had one left. He did, so he gave me the approval to order mine with that pickguard. With that being said, I think they do get their pickguards from a company that does make abalone ones and I believe you can order from them directly and it should be OEM quality. Your best bet is to call EBMM customer service and ask them and I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

I presently use a MM stingray5 and I love it. I saw an AD; BONGO 5 HH for 1000$ can. It seems pretty cheap and the bass look awesome, super clean. Is that a good deal. Should I go for it?

Asking bongo fan about this opportunity!

That's a smoking deal for a Bongo 5 HHp. The piezo option alone is several hundred dollars but well worth it in my opinion as it really adds a lot to the bass.

Hey, looka me! Me gotta Bongo!! Howzabout a number?

Just have an answer of the seller. No case with it. Damn. It goes in my MM stingray5 I guess. And moreover; how much does the piezo metal things is worthed?

A Bongo will not fit in a Stingray case. I do however believe that Music Man will sell you a hardshell case for a Bongo. The piezo option is around $300.00 extra I believe or somewhere around there. It basically gives you the ability to give your electric bass a full acoustic sound or you can pan to the magnetic pickups only or blend the two at any percentage that you like. I absolutely love mine and have a second on order right now in the 4 HHp configuration.

Bongo Club #149 is back in action.

I dropped by my local Guitar Center today to return a used bass and was stunned to find a sweet deal on a used black Bongo 4HH.

I ended up exchanging basses :smug:

I get to take it home on Friday the 14th :bassist:

It will be my 5th Bongo. I think I need to start keeping them.
