Had a 1/2 hour free time today, so did a "beauty shot" of the recent addition Bongo in true gold BFR rosewood neck.
Plopped it on a couch in my house near a window and snapped this one.

Been Bongo free for a while and have had some great ones but this is killer. This is the Premier Dealer Network version. Mahogany body, SS frets, Honey Burst finish, Pau Ferro board and a Roasted Maple neck set it apart from reg. production.

Hi there! I have a beautiful Bongo Stealth 5HH that I'm trying to sell. Why? Well because of the sound. I just cant get rid of that HI-FI boomy character and the lack of punch, definition is unbelievable. It's sad cause it would have been a keeper otherwise.
I was just wondering if anybody else here had the same problem or am I the only one with issues about the sound of Bongos?

Lack of punch? On a Bongo? Impossible. You must have the bass knob on the pre amp up way too high. First thing I always do is turn down the bass knob on the preamp. The Bongo has a very powerful preamp. Its bass knob is centered at 40hz, which is really low bass...practically sub bass and you can cut or boost up to 16 dbs with it. I find the Bongo to be very versatile and very responsive to EQ as well as right hand position.

Well. It lacks punch. Big time. Lots of output is NOT puch. The bass is undefined and "blurry" in the sound image.
