Daddario copper coated steels. They sounded great, but I use custom gauges for DADG and CGCF tunings, so I changed them. They were still fresh. Anybody want em?

Hello All....Going to try out I Brand new Bongo 4HH in candy apple red tonite at a local music store with a possible purchase... I just got a EBMM stingray classic a couple of months ago and it has become my go to bass...Just looking for advice on a Bongo...Have no clue about the 4 Band EQ, I know its a 24 fretter but does the neck feel like my stingray or close...I guess I will find out...Anything I should be aware of...Any suggestions...Thanks
Give yourself some time to play it, don't think 10 or 15 minutes will be enough. Once you get it plugged in, you won't want to put it down!

So just about two months ago picked up my first MM Stingray Classic..always liked them bought really did not know how good they actually are...especially the quality control and well the tone goes without saying...I,ve mostly played Rics with the odd Fender etc. When I first saw the Bongo I thought ***!!! Kinda of different. Well the more I educated myself on these fine instruments the more I got hooked on the style of the Bongo and now they are just plain cool. So what the heck tried it out last night and bought it...this bass just flat out rocks...Very pleased with the purchase...

Here's my Neptune Blue Bongo 4HSp with roasted maple neck. Had it for a couple of months now and it's amazing. Changed the black pickguard to clear, changed the strap buttons to Dunlops, changed the strings to TI flats. It doesn't need anything else.
JF344 Jazz flats, .043 .056 .070 .100. My favorite strings, period. I have six basses and four of them wear TIs.
Excellent thanks. I've been using Chromes on my other basses and always round wounds on my Bongo....Slinky's with factory setup. I want to experiment with flats and was thinking about the EB group III's. That seems to be the consensus string to use on the EBMM forum. But I have heard very good things about the TI's so I think I will give them a shot. BTW, your bass is absolutely beautiful.
I think you'll find you can buy 2 sets of Group IIIs for 1 set of TIs. I like the TI's, but IMO I don't like them 2X other brands.
Yes...very true about the cost. Just the legend of these strings makes me want to try them. I'm sure there are plenty of threads comparing them with other strings. But what about the Bongo? Has anybody done so and can offer experience?
The EB Group III flats are also very good strings. I have them on my Big Al (hanging on the wall in the Bongo pic) and like them a lot. I do prefer the TIs though. I have a P bass that has been wearing the same set of TIs for more than ten years, and to my ears, they keep getting better. They aren't cheap, but if you love the sound and the feel, it could be the last set of strings you ever buy.
Flats in general are very much YMMV, though, and I know plenty of people who hate the low tension. If you want to experiment with flats, it might make sense to start with the Group IIIs and see how you like them before springing for the TIs.
