I am ready to pull the trigger on a 4HH as well.
If I have to choose current colors, I m going Stealth Black.
If they offer more selection ,
I would love more options as well.
What special colors have you seen in the past?
Glen
The Starry Night was an amazing finish. Saw a Stingray in that and fell in love with it. But they have had several other colors in the past as well that I have liked better than the current selection.

They usually announce new colors at winter NAMM. So, I'd recommend waiting until then. Or, you could buy used and have it refinished in the color of your choice (like the Daphne blue one in my avatar). A used black Bongo could be refinished in a ton of different options that work with a black neck.
That Daphne Blue is nice. I guess I will wait and see what they come out with either this winter or even next summer. I intend this bass to be with me for a long time so I want to really love the color as well as the bass itself.

I will wait, then. Just not wild about the Firemist they have now. But they have had some awesome colors in the past, so hopefully they will in the not to distant future.

I have a Bongo 4 HHp in the coveted DD2 that I have decided to sell. It is cool how it changes from green to copper. If you are interested, hit me up via PM.

I see you have the Firemist Purple bongo... does it change colour depending on the lighting? Different pictures online seem to show different colours, from more blue to more purple, and what I would call a more "masculine" purple to a more "feminine" purple. Just wondering what it really looks like.

The foremost purple is starting to appeal to me as well.
I agree on the. Different color tones.
Especially between blue and purple.
Would love to see one in person.

If you can make it to Edmonton sometime, you could check out Avenue Guitars. I bought my Bongo 6 HS in the Honey Roasted PDN finish. I bought from BC and my transaction went smoothly. No issues with the Bass at all.

You can get 30% off the price noted on the website, but it will be a final sale. Also you will need to email to request pictures. Most items on the site do not include a picture. According to the website, they have a New Bongo 6 (Black) but no information on the pickup configuration. In the Used section, I’m reading a 4-string Honey Roasted PDN but that appears to be Leftie.

That DD2 is an amazing finish. I would almost be afraid to gig with it. Plus, while the changes in color are pretty cool, I really can't get into that green. Thanks for letting me know about it, though. I am sure someone will jump all over it when you put it in the classifieds.

It can almost be a deep blue at times, these are probably the two extreme ends of the spectrum

Thanks..

I am so close to jumping in on a Bongo 4HH.
Either fire mist purple or stealth black.
I wish stores would stock these babies.
I am in the Toronto area and they have to be ordered.
I did find one at The Arts in Newmarket, Ontario (north of Toronto) back in the early summer.
It disappeared off the shelf pretty quickly.
At least I got a chance to play it before it was sold.
if I find one in the U.S,, most times they don't want to ship to Canada and if they do,
looking at approximate 20% to 25% exchange rate and whatever duty they decide to slap on it.
I was given a price of $2579.00 Canadian.
Need to put half down.
Delivery is quoted at 3 to 4 months.......

Check out Cosmo's. They had one or two last time I was there. They're all pretty expensive. You're probably going to pay that much anywhere but any of the major retailers in GTA can order it for you. I got mine for $1700 CAD 5+ years ago and they went up when the dollar was really bad and never came back down.

The standard Bongo colours will hopefully be faster, but I personally wouldn't count on the 3-4 month wait they've quoted. I've ordered a Reflex bass, Bongo, and a Majesty guitar. All were quoted 3-4 months. The Reflex was 7 months, the Bongo 6 months, the Majesty has been 9.5 months and still waiting.

That being said, regardless of how long it takes it will be worth the wait :)

Current price in the US for a Bongo is $2,050. Factor in exchange and shipping and you're at the price quoted in Canada. Factor in shipping from the US and you're at the price quoted in Canada with tax. Seems to be the same price anywhere really.

Have you thought about buying from the USA and getting the free shipping to a receiver just across the border? Maybe Niagra Falls or whatever is closest to you? Then you just drive across and pay tax at the border. NAFTA still in effect so should be no duty if you bring it yourself.
