Check out Cosmo's. They had one or two last time I was there. They're all pretty expensive. You're probably going to pay that much anywhere but any of the major retailers in GTA can order it for you. I got mine for $1700 CAD 5+ years ago and they went up when the dollar was really bad and never came back down.

Cosmos didn't have any last time I was there a couple of weeks ago.
Wonder if they are brining back inventory.
Will have to check with them.

Current price in the US for a Bongo is $2,050. Factor in exchange and shipping and you're at the price quoted in Canada. Factor in shipping from the US and you're at the price quoted in Canada with tax. Seems to be the same price anywhere really.

Have you thought about buying from the USA and getting the free shipping to a receiver just across the border? Maybe Niagra Falls or whatever is closest to you? Then you just drive across and pay tax at the border. NAFTA still in effect so should be no duty if you bring it yourself.

i just saw a used Bongo 5 for sale at Elderley Instruments in Lansing Michigan for 1200.00 if anyone is looking for one.
It was blue.

Well, depends on when you bought yours. The average exchange rate five years ago was slightly better than par (Canadian dollar was worth slightly more than the USD). If you factor a 3% increase per year in the cost of the bass due to inflation you're at the current USD price (1700 at 3% inflation compounded for 5 years is close to the current asking price of $2,050). Looks like the price is pretty close to the same as it was 5 years ago.

I did not see any MM basses at their main location.

Sad too...maybe the best deal I ever got on a bass was $650CAD for a Stealth Bongo (early run with rw) from COSMO's auction sale.

Edit to add links. Looking at their prices I don’t expect Cosmo to roll out a red carpet to let just anyone try them. The Basses are listed at $17K and $20K.

Should be interesting...not apprehensive, just very curious if it has the ability to oust my custom '06 Cirrus. Whatever bass sounds and plays best, the other will go. There can be only one....

I haven't read anything about stability problems with the roasted necks, so that was a selling point. The regular oiled/waxed necks, though....

@96Brigadier @gkella I just looked at the website of Avenue Guitars. Apparently, their brick & mortar store is closed and they're selling their remaining inventory online. They have very low stock remaining and they already sold the Bongo 6 that I noted previously. (Maybe one of you was able to get it?)

Not me....I pulled the trigger on a stealth black Stringray... I got it from Long & McQuades, previously enjoyed but in mint condition for 2000.00. I couldn't resist. Saved about 700.00...The Bongo is still on the list but unfortunately going to have to wait a while.
