Ony my Bongo I always started with all EQ knobs dialed back to about 2/3. Then altered to taste, most of the time I just left it that way though. Bongos sound a bit on hyperbole already when the EQ is center detent. I like that sound in the correct context, but for more "normal" music or acoustic sets I found that dialed back EQ very good and usable.
They aren't making them yet. I've been emailing them once a month or so asking for them
I usually leave everything centered, but now I really want to try rolling everything back a third. Thanks for the idea!
Traded in The Thing That Should Not Be (F****r Precision Lyte, sounded like it was chemically castrated and also like it was quite happy with that) for a 4H Bongo this week. So far I am quite impressed although I still have to learn how to fiddle with the EQ somewhat better. I seems quite versatile though and indeed more aggressive than everything I own so far (this is my first MM product). Probably a keeper!

Okay, then I hereby declare this one to be as active as my Bongo, which -by the way- indeed cuts through all the noise in both my bands (one progressive rock, one pop/rock band, both having at least two alphamales on guitar competing for space and attention).
I have a hunch my posting behavior here will evolve into drooling towards purchasing a HS Bongo over the next couple of months.

It just keeps growing on me! Put new strings (DR Lo-riders) on it and now it is just perfect. I think my other basses are contemplating to kill me. Could I get a number before it comes to that so I can die in peace?
2005 Bongo 5 HH in Carbon Blue Pearl. This thing is to tones what the Library of Congress is to tomes.
I'm looking to spice up my bingo 6hh with a new pickguard, but don't want to spend $70 on reverb. Anyone have one they want to get rid of?
Here's the second EBMM Bongo in my collection. I got the purple one last September and the cat, which I named Bongo, in December, and the grey one about two months ago. The two instruments sound very different from each other. The four string is a lot brighter.
If I remember correctly, I think Scott said something about an update on the Bongo. I'm guessing some info will be released around NAMM. I read on the EBMM forum that the Sterling will get an update too, which both excite me. As for the Bongo, I'm hoping for an SS model.

I noticed this blue Bongo HS 6 on Reverb for $1260, which I thought is a decent price. I decided to share it here for other Bongo enthusiasts. I am not connected to this listing or seller in any way.
I already own a Bongo HS 6, but in the Honey Roasted PDN finish. It sounds awesome when I bring it to band practice.

I don't know if I'm going to ruffle any feathers here, but I'm about to start a mod of 21" scale bass uke to look like a Bongo.
