THE BONGO CLUB (Part 2, 3 and infinity)

My man, change your pickup heights with a screwdriver, its so simple & so drastic

What do you want? More warmth? Raise the neck a hair... Want more grindy highs & mids? Raise the front poles of the bridge pickup or hell the whole pickup. Try new strings too my man. Honestly

I can tell you, I will own one of these someday...I remember a couple months ago I played a 4 and 6 string HH model. Guess what, its still in the back of my mind, there was just something about it that made it stand out from the rest of any bass I've ever played.

Anyway, great looking Bongo's guys, making me all jealous and such, stop that!

BTW: I gotta play my Bongo HH naked this weekend! Sold my pickguard & my church band is playing tons of Eb & D...

Looks funny, holes & all. Can I borrow that pickguard Rag? Ha ha ha!

Ha....if it was a 5 string pg, I would have gladly loaned it to you.

They don't looked bad naked though.

I'm dying to get my hands on a black or sapphire black...or that blood red color.

Its a great 5er man. The 4 band EQ lets you put that 5 string exactly where you want it in the mix with the tone you want. I found that on a lot of others I was stuck with a tone or a volume of the B that didn't fit with the other strings... not with the Bongo

Welcome back MadBassPlaya! Pics when you got em

I just ordered a Black Ice Pickguard from Perfect Bass

Thats going to make it on the Silver Bongo & pics to come of that

Got my G&L ASAT from the shop & then went to compare it to the Bongo... wow!
The ASAT lasted 2 seconds before I went back to the Bongo.

The repair shop did a great job on the jack for the ASAT (Mouradian Guitars in Winchester, MA) but the tone of the bass was crushed by the Bongo.

I remember the extremes of the pickup blend sucking pretty bad but on 2nd review I really liked BOTH soloing the neck & bridge. Funny how that can change (But I do have a new bongo with different pickup heights now)

Some lucky person... hopefully a TBer... just picked up a BFR Black Sugar Bongo 4HH from Guitar Center Used for an awesome price. I called to grab it myself, but it had already sold and they hadn't yet pulled down the listing.
