I have a 5 and it’s very comfortable to play seated. The bass is well balanced, light, and rests easily on my leg. The balance shows up when standing as well. I would presume the 6 would be similar.

So no poking of the small horn in your leg? It looks like it does...

How is it for slapping? Is the front pickup not too close to the neck to interfere with double plucking etc.?

Honestly I found it a little uncomfortable sitting at first but I think I just got used to it. I don't find it hard to slap

I do find my Bongo 4HH more uncomfortable seated than other basses but as someone said, you can probably adjust your position and find a compromise that works.

Ok thanks. I have read this from others as well. I guess a Bongo 6 will be worse than a 4 when playing seated without strap? I guess I can only find out when I try one myself.

Looks a bit like the True Gold which is the same as the SR5 in my profile pic. If you have the serial number, you can just search it on the database and it will tell you what it really is.

Here's my 4 HH, waiting on a new preamp from EBMM, so sadly it's living in its case for the time being.

Biggest question is though...

Also, on a completely unrelated note: I just found out the Sire gigbags for the M series are perfect for a Bongo 4. Until now I was hauling mine around in a bag intended for acoustic basses. Just some free advice

Ive been using the mono M80 bass bag and its fantastic and it fits my 6 string bongo comfortably.

Has anyone changed their preamp at all?

After mine broke I'm a bit wary of them.

PCB mounted pots are never a great thing and the actual pots are tiny on the board. Is it a known weakness in them or is it I've been unlucky?
