I found the part pretty easily. 18v Battery Box (No Logo)

I haven't opened up the cavity in the bongo yet, but from the pictures I see online it does look like the contacts feed directly onto the PCB

There you go, didnt even notice it last time I opened it. You should be able to take this on then, let us know how it goes!

I got the replacement battery part in, opened up the bongo yesterday and holy crap yikes. I have the version with a Piezo so I'm seeing this large cylinder in the way. I'm not sure how to remove it. I've installed electronics in dozens of basses and have never seen anything like this, looks like you have the whole thing??

Regardless, I made the decision to keep the current wires attached to the PCB and I'll solder them directly to the new battery box, there's plenty of slack.

First unboxing of the Myung's Artist Series Bongo 6:

I don't know if the author is in this website or thread but . Congrats!

The bass looks better in person, the site pictures makes it seem too bright IMO.

Watched the video and still can't get over the 5 say knob... It seems like a waste on a Bongo and it should bring the cost down, not up.

Overall a nice bass but mostly for people like John who are relying on the effect racks.

I guess the rotary selector is the same idea as the 5 way selector in the Stingray 5 with different positions though.

I have a bass with balance between the pickups and I rather have a rotary like that. With a P and a M pickup it's either the P pickup soloed, or a bit of P and the M, both pickups or M-soloed. In general I only use the P-soloed or both pickups at the same. But when I want to go mid-way I have to hunt that perfect spot again.

Just like the Stingray 5 I believe they kind of selected the 5 best-spots for the buyers, taking in consideration what John uses. You won't buy this bass to be the ultimate flexible bass, for sure.

That is spot on. Sadly many Bongo users are enjoying the flexibility (like me), especially since I like to play around depending on the sound and which bongo im using (fretless/fretted).

I'm sure one will turn up for you eventually. I have been wanting a bongo 6 for a little while and just happened to look in my local classifieds and found this one for sale. I had a Fender Dimension bass that I was looking to sell and the seller agreed on a straight up trade.
That's a hell of a deal! Really dig the colour, reminds me of the one Ed the bass whisperer had on his original review of the Bongo. It's the video that made me get my first 6 string bongo.

Yeah, it was definitely a great deal. My Dimension was a great bass, but not worth a Bongo 6 in my opinion. The seller did have issues with the truss rod as the action was over 1/4 inch at the 12th fret so he might have thought it wasn't fixable but my tech took a look at it and just had to lube the truss rod nut a bit and got it under control easily.

I believe you're right that it's the same colour as the one Ed demoed.

Guess both parties were happy with the transaction haha!
