I've been gassing for a while for a looper, but it's been cost prohibitive, then craigslist gave me a huge break. The guy is selling off his son's "old" guitar stuff. His kid used to work at gc, and he bought it from a guy who traded it in. I'm going to try to talk him down in price.

It ended up being a boomerang+. I got it for $100. The input and output jacks were sort of broken, and I emailed boomerang about some sort of fix for this. I had to mess with the sensitivity for a bit to get it to stop clipping, especially with my EB3. Overall It's pretty cool

Good to hear.

I had the + but needed more flexibility. I currently have the Boss RC-50. It has the flexibility I'm looking for and then some. But it's the "and then some" that makes it WAY to complex. Complex to the point of making it no fun to use.

I think the 'Rang III with the updated software will be just perfect. I have no need to store loops, use drum tracks or have multiple inputs. The feature set of the III seems just right.

Time to sell the RC-50 and pick up a 'Rang.

The III is just great.... much less noise than the original, smaller footprint. I kind of miss the 'foot roller volume thing' from the original that could be used to quickly adjust loop versus live volume, but other than that, the III is better in every way from the original.

GREAT product, great company.

I've just received a mail with the version 2 update! Can't wait to try it out :) According to the website, all new pedals will ship with the update from now onwards. Apparently some users have had problems with applying the update from their Macs, so the Boomerang guys are recommending upgrading the software from Windows machines.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to hear/see samples with the version 2 update. Anyone who's installed the update have time to put something together?

BTW, I was almost licking the glass case that had the Boomerang III at Rudy's Music yesterday. I want one badly!!!

I haven't received my update yet, but I'm pleased as punch (first time I've ever said that) to hear that its out now.

I hate to say that I'm too uncreative in just one mode to be able to do anything with it, but I really felt hindered with the Serial mode. I just haven't found much use with it.

I'm pretty sure he's emailing it to everyone who bought a Boomerang III. I'm going to try calling him now and see if he missed me in the emailing or if he's just got a long list of people to send it out to.

Update: I just got off the phone with them (I think I was talking to Mike). He said that he sent out about 350 emails so far and have another 300 to go. If you haven't received an email then it may be that you didn't send in a warranty card (I'm guilty of this) or other reason.

So if you want the update, he asks that you send a brief email to them. Here's the address

He also asks that you send your serial number and where you bought it just so that can keep track of their pedals. It isn't necessary, but would help them in figuring out who sells the most of these pedals and so forth.
