The Company Coffee

I like coffee... but i HATE weak coffee, and i hate strong coffee... so im picky, i guess.

my mom orders coffee from company in san luis obispo, its really good...

my common room has a huge tub of coffee granules, and a hot/boiling water machine but i bring in my own coffee and herbal tea bags.

i only like black coffee, no sugar.

My preference is a grande triple latte from Starbucks. Although it's an expensive drink...taste wise, it can't be beat IMHO.

Starbucks is, hands down, the nastiest coffee shop coffee I've ever had. You're right in that no one can beat them in that regard.

Starbucks doesn't even taste like coffee to me...it tastes like some kind of other original drink concoction that has little resemblance to the nectar of the bean.

i drink Illy espresso in the morning, a good slap in the face to wake up. on the job i drink 1 or 2 regular (strong) coffee. i've heard about US coffee that it tastes like....mmmmhh, water.

You are right about this. Starbucks, by design, burns their beans so bad that it barely tastes like coffee anymore. Unfortunately, so many people drink it now that they have forgotten what a real cup of coffee tastes like anymore. This is besides the fact that they bury the coffee taste in so much syrup and whip cream.

hehehe.....I have ordered the Gevalia in the past just to get the free gifts. Their beans are good. Nothing spectacular. You can tell they are not in it to provide people with high quality coffee.

If you are really after a fresh/good cup of coffee, you need to buy whole bean and grind it yourself. Better yet, buy the beans green, and roast it yourself too. We just started roasting our own beans this year.

I have whole bean Farmer Bros coffee delivered to the shop once a month. I believe that the secret is in the grind.

Never drink the stuff at the office. I bring the hella cool travel mug each morning with coffee from www.peets.com. Either Garuda Blend or Major Dickason's.

The wife and I are so addicted that we set ourselves up on auto delivery.

My daily ritual, is to visit a peete's downtown. The stuff in the office tastes like bongwater =0

Preach on Brother Joshua! I am a Peets man myself, on scheduled delivery. Four pounds every 45 days, whole bean 2 Major Dickensons, 1 Sumatra and 1 French Roast. Bought the Quisinart coffe pot with the built in timer/grinder so it grinds the beans and brews fresh every morning and the coffee is waiting in a stainless decanter so no burnt coffee. It is awesome! It is the reason Lance keeps winning the tour!

yeah, we are waitin for the auto coffee maker in the mail.

i admit that we have never ground our own beans.....maybe that's where we are missing out

Yeah, that would be it. For optimum coffee, you need to use freshly ground beans. The ground up stuff in the tin can just can't do it.

I work at a fine-dining restaurant. I have to say that the coffee is pretty darn good.

We have one of those big machines that proper coffee bars use to make coffee at work. So you can get properly ground and brewed coffee here (with freshly frothed milk etc). By all accounts its pretty good, but I drink (hides) herbal tea at work

well mike, here's the trick. if you pour the coffee and you see the pouring stream of coffee being a little reddish-brown it's pretty fresh, if it's just brown/darkbrown leave it alone. unless it's a machine, then u don't know what is going on. we have to make our own.
