The Conclusions I've drawn about Micro Bass Heads

Making sure I meet the band's minimum tattoo requirement?
Being sure I have super-sweet dance moves?
Hoping I don't look tubby in my skinny pants?
Using no run mascara, so I still look cute when I sweat?

....there's just so much to worry about when you rock-n-roll.

I had a GK MB200 that I wish I had kept. Silent noise floor, great tone and plenty of power for a little practice amp. It was perfect into an Ampeg 210. I think it weighed only a few pounds.

Tech 21 quit making amps during all the Covid nonsense and have yet to pick it up again...

Due to exorbitant price increases of materials combined with supply chain and transportation issues, we have suspended production of all amplifiers.

Been around since about 2015 i think...no idea why they weren't more popular cause they are awesome...

I bought mine new about 5 years ago....and will never part with it!!!

Yes the hoarding of toilet paper and supplies coupled with supply chain problems that were prominent during the COVID-19 lockdown amid a “perfect storm” of causes, including shifts in demand, labor shortages and structural factors including geopolitics was nonsense and still is...

Being misunderstood can be an opportunity to educate others and broaden their perspective....

I would say that it’s because Tech 21’s primary business model makes it so that any amp can sound like that. It’s a crowded market for low volume, high ticket price items. Brand recognition makes a big difference when spending that kind of money because you want to have some confidence that it can be repaired. The difference between Tech 21 and traditional amp brands is that you already associate being able to put that sound if front of anything.

I would imagine Darkglass’ amp line faces similar issues, but they have the advantage of being owned Korg, which I have to think helps with supply chain issues, distribution, etc.

I agree both are valid comparisons. Footprint wise they are 15 cm x 15.7 cmm, slotting between the GR Mini One and Gnome Pro. The Darkglass offerings are a little taller though, and while they offer no FX loop, they do offer a 1/8" Aux-In.

I like the idea of their blend knobs, which blend between the clean and distortion circuits.

Companies write this generic and rather temporary message to explain a more fundamental and often permanent problem. For example they might have lost a person that was the heart of amplifier move. I am not saying someone necessarily died although it could be the case, but it could have been tight money, salary conflict, f u f u, and someone with IP or just the know-how and drive, left the company and took a "city job". Things like that have happened left and right.
