Since 2013 I have interviewed Doug Castro of Darkglass and Neural DSP four times. The first interview was in Nov 2014 when we got to see the prototype of the first Darkglass compressor, among other things. The second interview was in Feb 2016 where I got to try out the Alpha Omega prototype the first time. The third interview was in October 2016, where we talked a lot about the Microtubes 900 amp.

This is the fourth interview and it is the first time we dive into Neural DSP properly. There are (to me) some very interesting thoughts about how analogue and digital works together and why Doug started Neural DSP. As usual I got to see some interesting previews of what is coming. But that will have to wait until the next interview. :)

These are long-form interviews, as most interviews out there are much shorter. Enjoy!

Thanks to The first interview was in Nov 2014 for helping with the video and sound. Disclosure: We do these interviews for fun and because we can.

As an owner of a HX Stomp, three Darkglass pedals and the Neural DSP Darkglass plugin, I would be very interested in a Helix like Darkglass/Neural device. Doug always designs quality stuff.

My whole rig is 3 Darkglass pedals (Hyper Luminal, X7, AO:U) and a Helix Stomp. If Doug is able to make something combining all of those with some sweet filter, delay, mod effects I would by it within a heartbeat :D
