The DEVIL BASS. American standard USA Jazz Bass. Came with serial number ending in 666. Came with the red pick guard. Came with very dark sunburst. Came with a red handle on its case. Very rare bass. Has a face in the wood grain on the back. This bass did not end up in Terre Haute ....the original sin city by no accident.
You can take it to the crossroads and do your thing.

First, I don't see a 'face' on the back. I don't see anything even resembling any sort of facial features.

Second, this seems to be targeted to an emo 12-year old. Oooh 666, how edgy and dark. And a red handle!

For 12 grand?...please. If I'm spending 12 thousand on a "devil bass" I want to be able to hit the open D string (D for devil...get it?) and summon Lucifer himself or at least a lower-tier lackey like Mammon or Asmodeus.

Okay, I'm contorting my neck in all directions, that's a most liberal interpretation of the devil's face on the back of a bass. I don't see any horns, and it looks like the "devil's" wearing shades, has a scar on his face and pretty darn upset about it.

HA! I saw this the other day while I was looking around on Reverb. Hi-damn-larious!

I had no idea that a soul went for about $12K these days. That's kinda disappointing. I do see a face...but it vaguely resembles a sweaty Jim Jones heaving out a grumper more than the Dark Lord of Nethersville.

How many basses a year do you think Fender sells?

did a little digging and found this estimate. Let's say they make 20k basses and half are jazz half are Precision. So 10k. They've made any 10 666 serial numbers a year for... let's say 20-30 years.
And this is only the Mexican factory
