Earlier this year, I had a "customer" order two custom G&L basses to sneak the orders in right before the 2022 price increase. This Himalayan Blue SB-2T and this Matcha Green Kiloton both arrived sometime in the past two months. After numerous attempts to contact the customer with no reply whatsoever, I've recategorized this dude from customer to "customer". You have to actually pay for your stuff if you want to avoid those quote marks here.

I have $700 in deposit from this "customer", which he has now forfeited. I'm putting $100 in my pocket for my pain and suffering, and I'm going to use the other $600 to try to gin up some sales so I can pay G&L what I owe them.

Ordinarily I would focus the use of a "customer's" deposit on the specific instrument that got stranded here, but this time I'm not going to limit anybody like that. I've got almost 20 G&L basses in stock, and selling any one of those is just as good as selling any other.

So here's what I'm offering as long as this $600 lasts:
  • If you buy a G&L bass I have in stock, you'll get my usual G&L discount plus an extra $100 off.
  • If you have an open special order, I'll knock $50 off the quoted price if you are willing to prepay your order in full now.
I can't make my website do a discount that combines a percentage (my usual discount) and a fixed amount (the extra $100), so we'll have to handle this the hard way. PM me if you'd like a quote on anything, and then I'll give you that along with some options for making payment.

Let's give UPS some work, ya'll!

My LB-100 is surely due very soon, it feels like would it be a bit cheeky of me to apply to do this....

Don't be shy! I have several open invoices with G&L that are coming due that I'm trying to free up some cash to be able to pay. These two stranded basses f'd up my cash flow, and I've just been kicking the can down the road for a couple months now trying to recover. I'll pay one invoice only to have another one coming due, feels like I'm just chasing my own tail with every new G&L that arrives. Grrrr.

So any and all takers are VERY welcome! I'll PM you the balance minus $50 (though I'm know you're on top of it) and you can decide whether to do it or not.

Just found this thread doing my 'due diligence' before sending money over the internet to someone I've never met. Seems like people on here like you, so you should have my $$ in your account by the end of today (that's today, Australian time).
Then that pretty SB-2 can book itself a first class ticket to come and see me.
Hoping I love it as much as my Kiloton Tribute

Greg is awesome! Enjoy your new bass!

Thanks so much! $$ received, and I'll get the bass headed your way ASAP.

That makes two basses sold and 3 special order prepayments, so $350 is gone and that leaves me with $250 to spread around.

Just wanted to remind everyone that I still have $250 to spread around from the deposits that I kept from these two stranded special orders. Take $100 off my usual discounted price on any of the G&L's I have in stock, or take $50 off the quoted price of your special order if you'd like to prepay your balance in full.

Hopefully the "customer" is in good health and consciously forfeited $700 rather than something happening beyond his/her control.

The Matcha Green Kiloton just sold (thanks, @TimBosby), so that means both of the basses that were originally stranded have now been sold. That's fantastic news for me, and I just want to say thanks so much to everyone that has played along so far.

That leaves $150 to spread around. Let me know if I've got something you want!

Firstly, thank you to G&L for making this less cheeky of me.... that "surely very soon" was... overly hopeful ;)

Secondly, the British Pound has collapsed in value since I paid the balance: the $50 off saved me £40 — but paying early August rather than now has saved me another £140!
