Yeah, I've gone smaller too... A pair of Aggie 112's work for my main rig.
There's other configurations, but they usually stay at home.

I use my 6-10 when playing most clubs...but I have 2 4-8 cabs, 2 4-10 cabs,2 1-18 2-10 cabs and a 2-10...so you could say I have a wall...never played it all at once...might knock the earth off a bit...just saying...and yes I have amps to push it...oh for got my 1968 Bassman 2-15 JBLs...they stay home....

I use a single 112 98% of the time on my gigs. If that's not loud enough I basically don't want the gig.

Quite often my second 1x12 is just there to get the combo amp off the floor. I would have to carry something anyway, and it is < 30 pounds. And it does help at times.

But I have a volume limit. If the band gets too loud, I do not try to compete. Volume wars are a lose lose situation.

My full rig is a 1212/6/1. Like others packing 3012LFs, it puts out a good bit more than the average 12, plus help from the 6.5. But 2x12 is the only choice that fits, so that was my selection.

It might get a partner in the form of a 12/6 cube or 15/6 one of these days. Prob the former for easy grabbing.

There's also a 1x15 and a 2x10, but no way I'd run them all together. (Loud, but crap.)

Exactly! I would have chosen 4x15s were it an option. I use two 4x10s occasionally, but it isn't my main rig. I really don't like the 10s, though. 15s are far better speakers in general.

I run a 4X12 when I'm jamming with the band or playing shows and a 6X10 at home.

My current set up is a GK MB210 and MBE115, but I'm looking to sell the 115 to get a 212.

I voted 2x12 (finally have a berg ae on the way!) but my full rig also has a powered ev 1x12 dedicated sub, so really my largest setup will be 3x12's.

Yeah, it's occurred to me now that there's a lot of options I didn't list--including mis-matches like MY OWN RIG.

As of this minute it consists of a 212 and a 410.

I started the poll to see just how popular a pair of 12s really is these days compared to other setups.

I dropped my 8x10 after playing a Mesa 212 combo. For me, 12's have taken over.

If was getting silly about it I could daisy amps and cabs, mainly the 2x10 is plenty but 2x15 and 1x15 get dusted off on occasion. Often with jazz I'm direct to PA from pedals, no rig at all!
