The end is here for my 13yr old kitty

Thanks fellas. It is a bit easier today. Been talking about him at work today and it helps. Of the 4 kitties (now 3), he was the only one that would greet us at the door, throw himself down, and roll around on his back waiting to be petted. Really miss him.

One of my cat is exactly like that, I will miss him alot when I'll be gone for college :hmm:

Bump for the last day my dog will have on this earth. Been my best friend since before I can remember, and we have to go tomorrow morning to put him down. Don't even know what to say :(

Post pics. Take quick video with your cell phone or camera. Take photos too. I shot a short video of my guy. Hold, hug, kiss him one more time before the end. That helped. I can't describe the pain I felt for Scooter. I watched him go and was right there talking to him all the way. Do it. Sincere condolences...hang in there. :bawl:

my sincerest condolences.

My wife and I (no human kids) have 4 cats. We had to put one to sleep about 2 years ago (tumors throughout her body) and she was 5 years old. it was a sad, sad week.

you don't get over it but you accept and adjust. We keep ending up back at the animal shelter though and try to adopt a kitty usually that would be passed by (one has a broken tail, the others were older cats).

it sounds like your kitty had a wonderful, caring home and gave back to you as well.

Peace be upon you...

I've had 10 dogs (9 & 10) are still with us and 4 cats (3 & 4) are still with us.

It never gets easier...

But what they give us can never be taken away.

My dogs are 9 & 13 the cats are both 15.

The oldest dog has had 3 surgeries (two tumors removed & an ACL repair)
and the two cats have thyroid issues (one hyper and one hypo).

So one cat is fat and the other is skinny.

May they all live forever...

Losing a favorite pet is always sad.
What you need is a new kitty (or two) to brighten things up.
That's what my neighbor did. Here is one of her two new kittens.

Sorry to hear man. Our 13 yr old cranky black cat (she loved me though) had a stroke back in april. After 2 weeks of what looked like possible full recovery she took a turn for the worse and died quietly at home on the spare room bed. Broke my heart to see.
we have a 19 year old that still likes to hit the catnip and bolt around the house like a kitten!!!
My wife has a habit of taking in the strays from outside, We took in 2 young ones last year. I kid her about wanting seemless coverage for when the 2 older ones are gone

It's time. He's starting to suffer. My scooter-pie has had a full pampered life. Going to see the Vet today to put him to rest. :bawl:
This photo, he was just a few years younger/healthier. He is a Himalayan pure bred.

13 is a good, long life. But it isn't easy. My GF and I raise Pedigreed Persians and Hemis, most loving goof balls in the animal kingdom. She's managed to breed the number 1 and 2 best chocolate persians in the US two years running. Sympathys man.
