Ok, so I am getting ready to repair the female screw insert for my 3
point bridge. Does anyone know if there is a specific height requirement
for the screws when I re-install bridge and strings? Out of the factory,
I'm sure they're dialed in at a specific height, and I don't want to affect the action.

opium, when I changed my bridge, I just made it as LOW as I could get it until the thing was not playable...is there a specific setting? I doubt it....

how "low" will depend on your neck relief, before the frets are so buzzy it won't play. that's the fun on a cheap bass, you can mess with everything, and not worry about it.

Hello t-bird heads,

Does anyone have any idea as to what strings are used as stock on the t-bird, gauge wise etc.

Or what strings do you prefer to use on your precious bird?

an EPI is not precious, it's a toy compared to my other ones...

( unless it is your only bass )

ok maybe not a "toy"...I use 45-105 rounds ...brand is not a factor cause the pickups cant tell the difference

a little sarcasm and humor never hurts Mark, but ya I'm the lefty REBEL out here who like to play inverted, although playing normal is ok and I can do it, I'm more used to playing inverted after years of doing it that way, and the TBIRD shape is perfect to rest my arm on the "dip" in the body where it contacts my arm.......

( NO the knobs dont get in the way )

so that is my "technical" reason I like em opiumwarsvictor.

strap button on the wing or on the back, the strap doesn't get in the way, knobs are set back enough, and it just so happens the contour is perfect.

and not too many others look COOL flipped over <<<

so I have 3 Tbirds for different tones

EPI for the IMO crappy sound.
Dillion for the crystal clean piano sound.
Jackson for the metal look ---ooops I meant sound sorry


but for studiowork, I'm not worried about the look, so I'll use anything I have for what is needed.

I like to become a member I have a Epiphone Goth Thunderbird Bass that is now my main bass. I got it used but in Mint condition. I also have a Epiphone EB-3 that I purchased new but the Thunderbird is my number 1 choise. (My daughter is learning on a EB-0) I'm really not into Goth stuff but how could you pass on a deal on a Thunderbird???

I just bought an Epiphone Thunderbird Goth two days ago. Great bass and sharp looking too boot and I just joined Talkbass again this morning after an extended hiatus due to work reasons.

How do I post pics? I keep getting told they're too large and have to scale them down I guess. I'm no expert when it comes to photo editing. Actually my photography skills extend as far as point camera, push button, wait for flash and voila you have a picture.

Someone help! I want a number!!

just get a free account to photobucket.com or similar, upload your pics to there, then copy the link made for forums ( the one with on the link). easy stuff, and you can post your pics :)
