have any of you guys strung your Tbird with EB slinkys??
if anyone has how do they make it sound?
im thinking of buying a pack for mine

I used a set of EB .50-.105 on my Thunderbird. It was actually the first set I put on. I didn't like them, they sounded dead, maybe it was just a bad set. Now I use RotoSound RS66 .45-.105. I'm looking into trying other RotoSounds though. Has anyone tried the PSD99s? They're like $50 a set here, so I'd like some info before dropping $50 for one set of strings when I could almost get 2 sets of RS66s.

can we pretend this is an ebony "E"-bird???

Hey guys, really digging this thread. Lots of info! I got my T-Bird a month ago and have really been enjoying it. The tone is rich and just my style. Love how it doesn't look like 90% of the basses out there, and that SB look is just plain sexy. (Ex Carpenter talking here).

Put on some new Hartke Strings and really like the sound. Thick and strong...just like I love my women......

I had two questions for yall. How can I tell the production date? I got it used at a pawn shop for $175. Just curious.

And what EQ settings do you guys lean towards on these babies? I know the style and music change things, but what setting do YOU use...and why?

I'll post pictures later...

What are all the dings from?
it was pretty beat up before it was bought... It will get refinished someday by Shark a fellow TB member ( he is the owner of this one, not me thanks to the good ole thing called "being outbid" ).

this is such a EPI thread derail with these non-epi pics, but you know my love for Tbirds, even more for the ones that are NOT EPI/GIB...sorry :(

So yeah, what EQ settings do yall use and for what reasons? I am still getting my feathers wet....hehehe

i like an extremely bright tone,so i keep my highs and lows boosted(highs a bit more though)and i keep the mids lower.and as for the bass, i usually use the neck pickup only.i adjusted the bridge pup a few months back and it sounds like crap now.i need to do some tweeking to it..
