Just recieved my very first bird via TB trade. I have always preferred "fender" style of basses, but t-birds have always intrigued me. I unboxed her last night and haven't been able to put it down since. What a cool friggin bass, and it sounds awesome as well.
and what did you trade off to get the bird.... and is it a SB or painted one?

just don't pay attention to the ones here who are STUCK in their "insert name here" world, and say "garbage guitar/neckdive monsters/ growlysound pups". ---

I have even seen people try to justify saying that by saying "I played one about 3 years ago for 37 seconds and hated it", and use that as a basis for their opinion..

well obviously compared to a lot of models out there, they are right, so I never give them a rebuttal.

Its a burst.
Traded off my rarely played VM P-bass. I never really could dig the P not sure why. I love my VM Jazz and P special though. Usually when I play something I know right away if I am going to take a shine to it. The bird just fits. Luckily this one already had the extra strap button installed so dive isn't an issue. A bass is a bass, they all have pros and cons, I just happen to think that the ratio between comfortable, great sounding, and cool factor is right on with these things.

I love the non-pickguard look, so I took all mine off, and put em in ziploc baggies to match my non-pickguard JacksonBird :D

yours is a very cool Idea If your old Black one would fit on my DillionBird I would buy it from you ( since you don't use it now ) :hiding: -- but it' wont fit...I already know.

I do get on TalkBass at least once a day, but I don't notice if anything happens in this forum until my daily updates subscription tells me at like 10:00pm. Thus the delay in meet the number needs of new members.

Anyway...

So there you have it, the next graduating class of Epi T-Bird High.
Graduates... stand and turn your tassels.

Or just move your strap buttons to reduce neck dive.

ok here's my Bird... Sign me up...I'm not really a Goth kinda guy, but the mahogany body and the 1.5 inch nut convinced me. Here is a quick cell phone camera shot. The new CMK Pickguard should arrive this week and I'll post some decent pics. I put on a fresh set of LaBella Flats as soon as it arrived. I figured I'd have to move the strap button, but with the strap locks it really doesn't seem to be that big of an issue, true it is a little neck heavy but so far it seems tolerable. I've been playing bass over 45 years and have always wanted a 'Bird, but with the rest of the "stable" the pricey Gibson was out of question. So far the Epi has filled the bill
